What is Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)?
The Myers-Briggs Indicator is a diagnostic instrument with origins in Carl Jung’s concept of personality types. This test is used in the area of organizational manpower. It uses combinations of scores from four major scales to identify orientation toward Extraversion or Introversion, Sensing or Intuition, Thinking or Feeling, and Judging or Perceiving. When shared in a group whose members have relatively high trust in each other and relatively high communication skills, this self-disclosed information can further tolerance and understanding between members, can be used by individuals to enhance strengths in deficient areas, and in some instances can be useful in sorting out team assignments.
