What is a data mart?
Data mart hives off a subject of data in warehouse into a separate database, possibly at a different location. Data marts are created: -
a) To speedup queries by reducing volume.
b) To structure data as required by user access. c) To partition data.
d) To segment data into different hardware platforms.
